We like to be prepared.
We like to have everything we may possibly need in our home. But, when we travel, that’s not always realistic. We pack the necessities and go from there.
In this post I’ll share with you the three things we always bring when traveling with kids because getting an owie is bound to happen. And, if you’re like me, the last thing you want to do while on vacation is run to the nearest convenience store to buy conventional remedies. What we typically use at home, we take along with us. It makes everything so much easier when we have what we need on hand. So, here we go…
1. Colloidal Silver
“My throat feels funny.”
Uh-oh…you know what that means. Before the infection sets in, we quickly spray 15 times under the tongue, have them hold it for 30 seconds or so, then swallow. Voila! It works like a charm. We use this for ourselves too. The sign of the first sneeze, I spray 30 times under my tongue. No one wants to be sick while on vacation, this stuff works!
We keep a big 8 ounce bottle of colloidal silver at home. But, when we’re on the go, we pack the travel sized spray bottle. It’s quick and convenient. Just spray the recommended amount on the bottle. It’s excellent for immune support. This is the brand we trust and use- Sovereign Silver.
2. Owie Roller
It’s not a matter of if they’re going to get an owie but when. Am I right?
This is another favorite natural remedy of ours. It uses essential oils, plant medicine, to help heal any minor scrapes and boo-boos. Our kids ask for it every time. “I want owie oil, Mommy.” It instantly makes them feel better and everyone’s able to get on with the day. This is quite possibly the most used roller in our family.
It’s a blend of helichrysum (helps with bleeding, anti-fungal), lavender (soothes the skin, relieves pain, calming, antibacterial) frankincense (anti-inflammatory, promotes cellular health, heals scars), and marjoram (antiseptic, antiviral).
If you want a ready-made roller, you can support an amazing mama’s shop here. I learned this blend recipe and many other health related information on Jessica’s Instagram page. Give this mama a follow, I promise you will learn something invaluable.
If you want to make your own, you can find glass amber roller bottles here. You can also use these fun colorful rollers.
3. Tummy All Better
This roller is made by Plant Therapy. It’s a blend of petitgrain (relaxes the body, uplifting, helps with bloating), dill (helps with digestion), roman chamomille (calming, supports digestive health) spearmint (aids in digestion), and ginger (aids bloating, helps with nausea and motion sickness). We use this blend for any sort of tummy aches the kids may be experiencing. We roll it on their tummy clockwise and rub it in. It’s also great for nausea and motion sickness. After rubbing in, we take our hands and let them inhale it for aromatherapy. It works almost instantly. You can find this roller blend here.
These 3 things insure we stay healthy and have a fantastic time while we’re on vacation.
What are your must-haves when traveling with kids?
We’re traveling with the grandbabies next month. I’ve never heard of these, and will have to get them and try them out.
How wonderful! I hope you all have an amazing time!
I’m so glad I found this post. I need that Owie roller! My kids are always injuring themselves and it’s good to have something to hand. Thank you!
You’re so welcome! It’s one of our faves!
Love that you use all-natural products. I’ve never heard of Collodial Silver. I’d love to keep from getting sick too!
It has so many uses! Can also be used for ear & eye infections.
This is amazing. I’ve definitely toke down so notes so I can pick up some of these items. Especially having a three year old you can never be too prepared. Great article thanks for sharing.
These are definitely our go-to remedies. I hope you like them!
