The beautiful landscape. The cool, crisp air from the ocean. This place is stunning. I mean, just check out the view from our balcony!
This oasis is just a few hours drive away from home- 4 hours to be exact. Isn’t it nice when you can find a place close to home and yet feel as though you’re thousands of miles away? That’s what this place is for us; a nice place to relax and slow down.
Welcome to The Cliffs Hotel & Spa, paradise at Pismo Beach.
What drew us to this hotel was its beautiful oceanfront property. Right away I could totally see us and the kids lounging by the the pool doing absolutely nothing but enjoying oursevles.
Traveling with young kids we especially appreciate properties that allow for us, the parents, to relax while at the same time giving the kids something fun to do. The pool at The Cliffs is the perfect spot to do just that. I was able to lounge by the pool and order a drink all while the wildlings played and jumped in the water. Oh, did I mention? The pool is heated! That means you can take a dip even if it’s not the typical sunny California weather. As you can tell from the pictures, it was overcast and a bit chilly during our stay. But that didn’t stop us from enjoying the pool! There’s also an attendant to provide extra towels and complimentary water in case you need it. That’s always a plus.
We stayed in The Cliffs Signature Room which gave us amazing views of the ocean and pool. Our room was beautifully decorated with sea-inspired touches. The sliding door which leads to the balcony had a bar lock which kept the kids from being able to open the door by themselves. I totally appreciated that! The kids loved hanging out on the balcony and people watching. It was one the first things we did when we arrived. We could not get enough of the view! You can check out a tour of the room here.
The lobby has a cozy seating area with a fireplace and large windows showcasing the view of the pool and the ocean. They had a couple of board games in the lobby for us to play with. The kids enjoyed playing Tic-Tac-Toe.
The hotel is located directly above Shell Beach. There’s a walkway taking you straight to it! The kids loved playing in the sand and chasing the waves. It was nice to easily be able to go back and forth from the pool to the beach. Plus, we were able to do a few fun and educational activities with the kids like build a sand volcano.
…perfectly situated between Los Angeles and San Francisco in the heart of San Luis Obispo County. That means you’re close to some of the coast’s top attractions, eats and activities. ~The Cliffs
There are plenty of ways to play in San Luis Obispo. You can spend the day out on the water, visit some of the vineyards and breweries, take a quick one hour drive to Hearst Castle. Or, you can do what we did- spend your days relaxing at The Cliffs. That was all the activity we needed to satisfy everyone in the family.
Thanks to The Cliffs Hotel & Spa for hosting our stay.♥ The kids are already asking to go back!
Wow, love it! Your description made me want to leave everything behind and just go there. So what it’s thousands miles form me hahaha!
Greetings from Poland!

It’s just not a vacation without a beach!😂
That is a really nice hotel with a beautiful view with a pool. Its a winner in my book.
I am still not fan of the hotels, I prefer using Airbnb and have direct contact with locals 🙂
Isn’t it nice that you have such places nearby. Places where you feel you are in another world and on holiday. I appreciate that from our life in France. There are so many tourist attractions around us that it seems we are always on holidays.
Ooo France! Yes, I can definitely see how that would be a good location for many attractions. I hope to visit one day. 💕
Believe or not I have actually stayed in this exact hotel, when in Pismo Beach. It was just a over night as we were driving the PCH, but we saw a great dinner theater show while we were there and raced dune buggy’s one the beach, fun place!
That’s so cool!!!The dune buggy’s looked fun!
This looks like a wonderful place to stay with so much to do and see if one wants to and a great spot to do absolutely nothing but stare at the ocean too!
You summed it up perfectly!
That view looks beautiful! What a nice vacation 🙂
