#thankfulthursday I had to jump on this trend. I've come a long way from where I started.

I remember my 1st day in school in America. I came in the middle of class with no school supplies. Worksheets were passed out and the students started working on it immediately. I didn't have anything to write with and I didn't know how to tell the teacher. So I sat there watching the other kids who would occasionally look up to glance at the new stranger. The teacher noticed my awkwardness and came over with curiosity. I didn't know how to say pencil in English so I said, "lapis." She was trying hard to understand. I took my right hand and pretended to write. "Oh, pencil!" She excitedly went to her desk and brought back a pencil.
