Oh, the cabana life.
Lounging in the shade. Drink in hand. It sure looks appealing. But, is the cost worth the experience?
Depending on the hotel, prices for cabana rentals can range anywhere from $50 to $500. Having a comfortable place to relax by the pool can easily cost the same as the double queen room you’re staying in. We usually opt out of this lavish accommodation and mingle with the commoners. (LOL)
At our recent stay at LEGOLAND Castle Hotel we decided to give cabana life a try. As the youngin’s say- You only live once. Right?

Let’s get to the deets!
We visited LEGOLAND in the month of September. Since it was low season, we were able to take advantage of the lower cabana rates. Cabana rental fees can go as high as $379 during the holidays and as low as $179 during off peak season. We paid the latter.
So, what does renting a cabana get you?
1. A comfortable place to relax
Renting a cabana gives you access to shade with comfortable seating. Ours had a table for four, a daybed, and lounge chairs. The daybed was super comfy.
2. Privacy
The cabanas have 4 “walls” that can be zipped up or tied back. You can have as little or as much privacy as you want. We were able to get our suits off and get dressed in the cabana. Super convenient.
3. Service
Pool-side service allowed us to order drinks and food off the menu without having to leave our area. This was a nice amenity to have with kids. We were able to have food brought to us whenever the wildlings got hungry. Here’s the menu:
4. Cooler filled with ice cold drinks
Ours came with bottled water, sodas, and juice. The cooler was also refilled with ice whenever necessary per our request.
5. Meat, cheese and fruit platter
The size of the platter was huge. It was big enough for 4 adults to munch on. We only managed to eat half of it and took the rest to go.
6. $75 food credit
When the kids were ready for lunch we ordered mac n cheese served with a side of french fries & pineapple. My husband and I also ordered some cocktails. And a sundae big enough to share was brought over for dessert.
7. LEGOLAND duffel bag with 2 LEGOLAND Towels
Another addition was a LEGOLAND duffel bag filled with 2 LEGOLAND towels. They made for nice souvenirs to take home. Extra pool towels were also provided and found neatly folded in the cabana.
8. More time at the hotel
We booked the cabana rental on the day we were checking out. Although check-out was at 11am, we were able to stay on the property until the pool closed which was at 9pm on the day we stayed. I thought that was a sweet bonus.
