It's funny how interests change through the differ

It's funny how interests change through the different seasons of motherhood.

The first few years I was fully submerged into my new role as mom. I had little to no desire to leave my family to "hang out" with friends. Heck, the first time I spent the night away from the kids they were 6 & 7 years old. That was also the same year hubs and I were able to have our 1st weekend getaway alone. Alone!!! 🤣

Anyway, that year proved to be quite challenging as we realized it was nearly impossible to find help with the kids. The hubs and I were finally on the same page about being okay with leaving our kids only to find out it wasn't as simple as we originally thought. 😮‍💨

The past year we've been putting in more effort into finding ways to make getaways possible. The solution? We take turns. I stay home with the kids while he has his boys trip and he stays home while I have my girls trip.

Don't we want to go on vacation together? Heck, yeah, we do! We just don't have the help to do that. So, for now, we'll take turns.
