I experienced my first Mommy Lockdown with fellow blogger, Hazel Valeria, last week.
Believe me when I tell you- It was everything I hoped it would be.
It was productive. It was fun. It was luxurious.
When I first got settled into my room, I tried working without having anything on- no TV, no music. I kept the balcony door open so I had the background noise of the people hanging out on The Village lawn. It took me a few minutes to clear my head.
I was alone. No kids. No husband. I had only myself to worry about.
It was a strange feeling but I overcame it quickly!

It was productive.
I was finally able to focus and the first thing I started on was a vision board.
I didn’t bring any magazines so I called the front desk and they graciously fulfilled my request. I got out my blank white canvas, markers, scissors, glue and sheets of colored construction paper.
This is what I came up with:

You can’t miss all the randomly placed dollar signs. LOL. Go for it! There’s no shame in asking for what you want! Put all your desires on your vision board. It’s yours. Visualize it into existence. Let the universe know what you want to attract.
I also added a lot of outdoor images. I would really like to utilize our backyard once again. It’s embarrassing to admit, but we haven’t been using our backyard for the last 2 years. It’s been overrun by weeds and the task is daunting! I would really love to clean it back up again and enjoy all the outdoor space. Hopefully it will be a more permanent solution by way of concrete. Universe, do you hear me?
The next thing I focused on was organization. I brought 3 different notebooks which corresponded to the 3 areas of my life that I wanted to concentrate on- Housework, Homeschool, and Blogging.

Housework.
Being a stay at home mom, I’m the one in charge of the bulk of the cleaning and organization of our home. It’s easy to lose track of everything and let the mess take over. In my “housework” notebook, I prioritized the areas of the home I’d like to start tackling. There are several areas of my house that need serious decluttering and rearranging.
I don’t know about you, but my brain feels like it has several tabs open all at the same time. And none of those tabs can get closed because I haven’t taken action on any of them. Writing things down and prioritizing definitely helps clear my mom brain.
Homeschooling.
I wanted to focus on the upcoming school year of 2020-2021. I wrote down some goals I’d like each child to accomplish and brainstormed on various activities we could take part in. I also started a list of the supplies we’d need next year. If you follow our Instagram page, you know we take a very relaxed approach to homeschooling. We don’t follow any particular curriculum but I still like to have some general ideas to focus on.
I love that I now have this notebook to reach for whenever a random homeschooling idea pops into my mind. I’ve already jotted down a few more ideas and items I’d like to buy for next year since being back from Mommy Lockdown.
Blog.
I seriously need to devote more time to blogging. My goal is to set aside at least 2 hours each week to sit down and write. It’s been 1 week now from Mommy Lockdown and so far, so good.
I was able to brainstorm different content ideas related to both blogging and social media. I also wanted to clean up my hashtag list during Mommy Lockdown but I wasn’t able to get to it. Maybe Mommy Lockdown needs to be 2 days? Just a thought.
So, aside from those 3 notebooks, I also started a bullet journal for my daily tasks. I was gifted this one from Leuchtturm1917. I listed things like: movement, pray, meditate, vitamins, etc. If you’re new to bullet journaling, it’s a sort of to-do list. It’s a useful way to keep track of your daily activities. I can see why the Leuchtturm1917 bullet journal is so highly rated. It has a hard cover, 3 built-in bookmarks and a useful pocket. Learn more about Leuchtturm1917 products here.

It was fun.
In between being holed up in my room, I was able to take some quick breaks. My balcony at Vista Collina was perfect for this. I had an incredible view of the vineyard and The Village lawn. I would grab my glass of wine and just stand out there people watching. It was the best!
Take a look at my balcony view! I spent a lot of time out here in my gifted Emi & Kay PJ’s. You can’t see it from the photo, but my sleep dress has pockets! Learn more about Emi & Kay PJ’s here.
Hazel and I were also able to take a few minutes to check out the beautiful pool area. When we arrived back to our rooms, we each had a special treat waiting for us. It was such a thoughtful surprise and it couldn’t have come at a better moment. By this time, we were both starting to get hungry. The charcuterie plate and bottle of prosecco was just enough to hold us over until dinner. (Thank you so much, Lindsay!)
