Simple syrup is something we always keep in our fridge.
We use it for a lot of cold beverages like iced tea, cold brew coffee or lemonade.
It’s great for beverages you want sweetened without having to wait for the granules of sugar to dissolve.
Simple syrup is super easy to make. It’s basically 1:1 sugar to water. But since my husband is now following a keto diet, I’ve had to switch out our simple syrup to an alternative sweetener.
The directions are the same. But, rather than using sugar, we use monkfruit sweetener instead.
- Any kind of keto sweetener. We like Lankato.
- Boil water.
- Mix equal parts water and “sugar.”
- Stir until dissolved.
- Pour into clean glass jar and store in the fridge.
